Greenpoint Yard
This Brooklyn yard needed a complete overhaul. We ripped out a yard full of weeds and brought in bluestone gravel for the central area. Three trees anchor the design: a Weeping Cut-leaf Birch (mature height 30’) will provide shade for the seating area, an Acer Palmatum Bloodgood Japanese Maple provides a deep red color accent in the shade area, and an Weeping Alaskan Cedar provides winter interest. Wisteria is trained to grow over a hot tub pergola. Across from the hot tub a bed of mixed flowering perennials provides a colorful view. We used a group of containers for edible plantings around the hot tub. A gray terrazzo table and stools complement the bluestone gravel.
