New lithops just arrived– lots of big fat ones, too! Take a look, and then consider signing up for our class on Thursday at 6pm when we’ll discuss lithops and several other strangely-evolved specimens of the plant kingdom. There are still a few spots left.
Just got a fresh batch of carnivorous plants in stock. . . Venus fly traps, small pitcher plants, and some great-looking sundew.
We have a lot of great drinking vessels here at Sprout Home, from the fancy design minded Pantone Mugs, to the fun and silly Panda Bear Mugs to Japanese Ceramic Twombly Tea Cups, and many many more. Lots of people come in and buy them from time to time, and comment that they now have ” a new favorite coffee cup. This makes us smile. But here’s the thing, we are crazy about potting up little plants into things that are not technically planters. You can plant just about anything, into just about anything, as long as you take the proper precautions regarding drainage material and watering carefully. If you want to plant a baby succulent into a coffee cup like we have done here, or into anything that does not have a proper drainage hole in it, you will want to put an inch or so of gravel in the bottom, and slow your roll with watering. I think little drinks often is better than a once a week mega watering. Here is a little photo journey about drinking vessels turning into planters.
Let us enjoy a nice refreshing drink.
Excuse me, there seems to be a plant in my drink.
No problem, plants are good for you, I’ll drink it anyway.
A closer look at what we planted in these Pantone, Twombly, and Panda Mugs.
Happy Friday everyone. We are stocked up on all things happy and plant. The floral fridge is also busting at the seams. Here are just a couple of our Floral Dandies that just showed up. So fun! This is a little five image slideshow, just click the image to move to the next one. Or just sit back, it flips to the next image after like 5 seconds.
